General
information about process:
The compound
and its objects were made with a conscientious effort for accuracy and
realism. The computer programs used to complete this project were SketchUP,
Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. Using archaeological plans and information
about Tiwanaku compounds and objects helped the researchers create a
believable household environment. To add to this realism, as the day
progresses, the shadows also change accordingly. Furthermore, the background
(mountains, etc) are consistent. For example, looking south will yield
one view, looking north would yield another, and so on. The researchers
tried their best to add people to the compound, but copyright issues
and time impeded this effort greatly.
Some
possible future directions for expansion of project:
1) Do other "chapters" in Janq'u's life, such as "Janq'u
goes fishing," "Janq'u explores the heart of Tiwanaku,"
"Janq'u goes traveling," etc.
2) Add more background information to the webpage.
3) Add more people to the compound.
4) Do a movie walkthrough of the compound.
5) Integrate compound in the larger Tiwanaku city setting. Try different
city block organizations.
6) Make different compounds and compound groupings.
